ESOL
We have been running very successful English classes for the past 6 weeks. The women are really enjoying the classes again especially the social interaction and the opportunity to practise their English, both written and spoken.
We have done a variety of activities about their local community; role play as well as learning about the names of various shops and places around them. We included reading activities as well as question work to allow the students to express themselves in English.
The work was also differentiated into two groups with the beginner groups playing word games such as bingo and alphabet games as well as beginner vowel sound worksheets, which was really enjoyed by all.
We will continue working on a variety of new themes in the New Year including shopping and food words and role play to help the women gain confidence and increase social interaction
